Red floodlight masts over the stands
Kai Tak's tall red apron floodlight masts now stand between the parked aircraft on every row of stands, lit at night.
Kai Tak's stands were lit by tall, slender red floodlight masts standing in the gaps between the parked aircraft, each with a bank of lamps on top. Period photos of the apron in 1998 show them rising between the tails. They are now in the sim, on every row of stands.
Where they stand
- Each mast is 28 m tall, tapering from 0.8 m at the foot, with a service platform and a red frame of ten lamps that faces the stands.
- They stand at the nose end of each row of stands, in the gap between neighbouring stand boxes: along the pier at stands 1-8, and by stands 11-19, 21-26, 41-46, 51-57 and 71-81.
- They are placed clear of the wingtips, the jet bridges, the pushback tugs and the apron buses' lanes, so the ground traffic runs as before.
At night
After dark the lamps glow warm white and each mast carries a red obstruction light on top.
Watch out
The masts are solid, like the buildings. Clip one with a wingtip or the fuselage and the flight ends in a crash.
啟德嘅停機位由一枝枝又高又幼嘅紅色射燈柱照明，企喺停泊飛機之間嘅空位，頂部有一排燈。1998 年停機坪嘅舊相見到佢哋喺機尾之間聳起。而家模擬器每一排停機位都有。
企喺邊度
- 每枝燈柱高 28 米，底部 0.8 米闊、向上收窄，有一個維修平台，同一個面向停機位、有十盞燈嘅紅色燈架。
- 佢哋企喺每排停機位機頭嗰端、相鄰停機位方格之間嘅空位：沿住 1-8 號停機位嘅登機廊，同埋 11-19、21-26、41-46、51-57 同 71-81 號停機位旁邊。
- 位置避開機翼尖、登機橋、推機車同停機坪巴士嘅行車線，地面交通照舊運作。
夜晚
天黑之後，燈會發出暖白光，每枝燈柱頂仲有一盞紅色障礙燈。
小心
燈柱同建築物一樣係實心嘅。機翼尖或者機身擦到佢，飛行就會以墜毀告終。
