Fix
Fix: no more false "too low" calls after take-off
The gear and flap warnings now only sound when you are descending.
After take-off, the ground proximity warning could shout "Too low, gear" the moment you raised the landing gear, and "Too low, flaps" while you were still climbing out with take-off flaps. Both calls are wrong on a take-off. They now only sound when you are descending.
What was wrong
The two calls checked height and configuration only. Close to the runway, with the gear up (below 500 ft) or with flaps under setting 3 (below 250 ft), they fired whether you were going up or down. In free flight, a normal climb-out set them off, and the first call also came with an amber warning on the display.
What changed
- The "Too low, gear" and "Too low, flaps" calls now need a descent of more than 200 feet per minute.
- On the IGS 13 approach they work exactly as before, because you are always descending there.
- Terrain, sink rate, glideslope, bank angle and stall warnings are unchanged.
The fix matters most for the new Take-off lesson, where raising the gear is a step of its own.
What did not change
- Flying with no input still ends in a crash, and the autopilot still lands in every weather preset, in all four aircraft.
- 「Too low, gear」同「Too low, flaps」而家要下降率大過每分鐘 200 呎先會響。
